Philip started his career in BBC Network Radio then completed the BBC Engineering 'A' course before joining BBC Television. Moving to ITV he held roles at ITN News, TV-am and TVS where his duties encompassed training staff on computerised transmission systems, directing news bulletins and writing and directing promos for the national ITV network.

Philip project managed an innovative nationwide UK branding and IT roll-out for Save the Children and then moved to Rome to serve as Controller of Operations for Orbit – the world's first entirely digital Satellite TV and Radio network where he recruited many hundreds of operational and production staff. Philip then became SVP of Ops and Tech for a pan-Asian satellite music television service. His career has also included a wide portfolio of advisory, mentoring and leadership assignments with organisations including A*STAR, WorldSpace, TVB (USA), Strategic Intelligence, Singapore Management University, Content and Systems and Sony Pictures. Philip was also part of the start-up team of muvee Technologies (the pioneer in automatic video editing) and was its COO for ten years.

Philip serves as a Board member for a Singapore arts charity, is a competitive dragon boater and holds an MBA from the UK's Open University.
