Richard Mackender

Richard Mackender leads the Business Process Solutions (BPS) service line for Deloitte Singapore. He has more than 17 years of experience with Deloitte. He began his career with Deloitte UK’s London VAT team in 1997 and moved in 2003 to Singapore.

The BPS team provides support for companies in respect of payroll, book-keeping and accounting and corporate secretarial services. The team works closely with the other functions in the firm so that there is a seamless connection for tax and compliance requirements. Richard also has a role in Deloitte’s Global Tax Centre Asia (GTCA) which is based in Singapore and which provides coordinated regional compliance services for some of Deloitte’s largest clients.

Richard holds a law degree from the University of Wales (UK) and subsequently trained as a Barrister. He was called to the Bar in October 1997 and is a member of Gray’s Inn. He is also an Accredited Tax Advisor (GST) with the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (“SIATP”). He is contributing author for CCH’s Singapore Goods and Services Tax Guide and has co-authored a number of other books on indirect taxes in Singapore and Asia Pacific.
